Getaway Shootout (New) keeps the awkward movement that makes the race funny: you do not simply hold a direction and run. Moving, jumping, and using an item all compete for a few keys, while the other racer is trying to reach the getaway first. The updated build has a different mix of stages and pickups from the older entry, so learn the route before gambling on a weapon. In a local two-player match, player one uses the W/E/R/T cluster and player two uses I/O/P/L. Give each person enough keyboard space and test the action keys at the start of a round. A short, controlled jump often gets you over an obstacle more reliably than a frantic series of presses.
