About Whatajong
Match free pairs of mahjong tiles, hit each round's point goal and spend your coins on new tiles in this Mahjong Solitaire roguelite adventure.
Whatajong turns classic Mahjong Solitaire into a roguelite adventure of 24 rounds. Each round asks you to clear every tile and score at least the required number of points, while a clock slowly eats into your score and a moves counter warns you when the board has no pairs left. Clearing tiles earns coins, which you spend in a shop between rounds to add new tiles to your deck: dragons, winds, flowers, phoenixes, jokers and more, each with its own effect. Buy three identical tiles and they merge into a stronger material such as jade, ruby or sapphire, giving extra points, extra coins, or easier matches. Pick an easy, medium or hard mode and see how far your deck can take you.
Whatajong sits in our puzzle games lineup. Brain teasers, logic puzzles and word games.

How to play Whatajong
Click two identical tiles that are free on the left or right side with nothing on top to clear them. Clear the board and reach the round's point goal.
- Press Play and start the first round. A short tutorial explains the basics.
- Click a free tile, then its identical partner. A tile is free when its left or right side is open and nothing sits on top.
- Clear every tile and reach the round's point goal before time drains your score.
- Spend coins in the shop between rounds to add tiles to your deck, reroll the offers, or freeze an item for later.
- Buy three identical tiles to upgrade them into a stronger material.
Tips for Whatajong
- Clear tiles that unlock the most other tiles first, especially those at the ends of long rows and on top of stacks.
- Watch the moves counter. When it gets low, look for pairs that open new moves rather than the easiest ones.
- Reroll the shop when nothing helps your deck, and freeze a good item you cannot afford yet.
- Aim for upgrades: three identical tiles merge into a material that gives extra points, coins or easier matches.
